A Story of Peace - Story
In a small village nestled between the mountains, a wise old woman named Miriam was known for her unshakeable peace. People often sought her counsel in times of uncertainty. One day, a young man named Eli approached her, troubled by the storm brewing in his life. His job was in jeopardy, his relationships were strained, and he felt pulled in every direction.
Miriam invited Eli to sit beside her on the porch, overlooking a serene lake that mirrored the clouds above. As they sat in silence, Eli's eyes were drawn to the water. He noticed how, despite the strong winds that rustled the trees, the lake remained calm. “How can it be so peaceful?” he asked, bewildered.
Miriam smiled and gently replied, “This lake knows its source. It trusts in deeper currents that keep it steady.” She then opened her Bible to Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.”
With tears in his eyes, Eli realized that like the lake, he needed to trust in God’s guidance. He needed to find stillness amidst the storm, to let go of the chaos swirling around him. Miriam encouraged him to embrace faith, knowing that spiritual growth often emerges from these very tensions.
