Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using IllustrateTheWord.com ("the Service"), operated by ChurchWiseAI LTD, an Ontario, Canada corporation ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Description of Service

IllustrateTheWord.com is a sermon illustration library providing searchable access to curated illustrations, stories, quotes, and analogies. The Service includes:

• Browsing and searching illustrations by topic, scripture, emotion, tradition, and source type
• Saving illustrations to personal favorites
• Downloading sermon slides for selected illustrations
• AI-powered chat support for finding illustrations (where available)

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Account Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Content and Intellectual Property

The sermon illustrations, curated content, organizational structure, and slide designs on IllustrateTheWord.com are the intellectual property of ChurchWiseAI LTD or its licensors.

Permitted Use (Ministry License)

You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use illustrations accessed through the Service in your sermons, Bible studies, devotionals, small group materials, and other ministry contexts. This license permits:

• Reading and referencing illustrations in spoken sermons
• Including illustrations in printed sermon notes distributed to your congregation
• Displaying downloaded sermon slides during worship services
• Sharing individual illustrations with ministry colleagues for non-commercial ministry use

Prohibited Use

You may not:

• Republish, redistribute, or resell illustration content in bulk
• Create derivative databases or competing illustration libraries using our content
• Use content for commercial purposes unrelated to ministry (e.g., books for sale, paid courses)
• Bulk download illustrations by any method, automated or manual
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract content
• Remove or alter copyright notices or attribution

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to circumvent content access restrictions or subscription gates
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Impersonate another user or entity
• Use automated tools to access the Service without written permission
• Share your Premium account credentials with others

Free and Premium Tiers

• Free tier: Browse and preview all illustrations with a free account. Some content may be truncated.
• Premium tier ($9.95/month): Full access to all illustrations, favorites, and slide downloads. See our pricing page for details.

Subscription Billing

Premium subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. Your subscription will automatically renew each month until cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then.

Refunds

We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods. For details, see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

AI Features Disclaimer

The Service may include AI-powered features such as chat support to help you find illustrations. AI-generated responses are provided for convenience and are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or theologically correct. AI features do not constitute pastoral advice, theological counsel, or professional guidance of any kind. Always exercise your own judgment when using AI-suggested content in ministry.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or theological correctness of any illustration. Illustrations are curated from various sources and traditions, and users should exercise their own theological judgment.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChurchWiseAI LTD's total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the total fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. In no event shall we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or business interruption.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Service. Upon termination, your ministry license to use previously accessed illustrations survives for content already incorporated into sermons or materials, but you may no longer access the Service to retrieve new content.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised date. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
