Chariots of Fire: Seek First the Kingdom (Matthew 6:33)
In Chariots of Fire, Eric Liddell refuses to run his Olympic heat on Sunday—the Sabbath. He's mocked, pressured, called unpatriotic. But he's already decided: "I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel his pleasure." He seeks first the kingdom, trusting the rest will follow. It does—he wins gold in a different race. "Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Liddell didn't abandon his gift; he submitted it. The kingdom came first; the gold came second.
