Contemplating Economic Justice and the Kingdom - Prayer
Dear God of Love and Justice,
As I pause to reflect on the profound call of Economic Justice and Your Kingdom in my life today, I am drawn to the stirring words of Amos 5:24: “Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” These words resonate like a clarion call, urging me to look upon the world through Your eyes—eyes filled with compassion and an unwavering commitment to justice.
In this moment, I invite You to open my heart. Show me where I have turned a blind eye to the struggles of those around me. Perhaps it’s the single mother in our community, working three jobs yet still unable to provide enough for her children, or the elderly neighbor who worries each month about affording their medication and groceries. Help me to see their faces, to hear their stories, and to feel their pain.
Guide me, O Lord, to be a beacon of light in the shadowy corners of economic disparity. Let my actions not merely be a reflection of my beliefs but a powerful testament to Your character of love. May I advocate for those who feel voiceless and work tirelessly to uplift those in need, fostering a sense of community where every person is valued and loved.
