Contemplating Mercy
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I meditate on the theme of mercy today, I find myself drawn to the profound parable in Matthew 25:31-46, where Jesus speaks of the final judgment, separating the sheep from the goats, based on their acts of compassion. This scripture is a mirror reflecting not just our actions, but the very essence of our hearts. Lord, help me to see my life through Your compassionate gaze and to respond to the needs around me as You would.
Imagine standing before the King, and He asks, "When did you see me hungry and feed me? When did you see me thirsty and give me something to drink?" What if we encountered individuals in the margins of society—those who are forgotten, who are weary, who feel unloved? Could we become vessels of Your hesed (loving-kindness) in these moments, offering not only our resources but also our presence?
In the busy rhythm of life, it’s easy to overlook these opportunities. Yet, when we choose to be a light in the darkness, we bring forth hope and healing. Your grace can transform an ordinary encounter into an extraordinary moment of divine connection.
