Contemplating We are Imago Dei - Prayer
Dear God of Love and Justice,
As I pause to reflect on the profound truth of being Imago Dei, made in Your image, I find myself drawn to the powerful reminder in Amos 5:24, which declares, “But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream.” Lord, open my eyes to the areas in my life where Your love and justice need to flow more freely. Help me to see others not through the lens of judgment, but through the warm embrace of compassion that You have so graciously extended to me.
Imagine my heart as a candle in a dark room, flickering and struggling to shine. Yet, with Your guidance, I can become a beacon of hope—illuminating the shadows where despair lingers. In my interactions today, may I carry this light into the lives of those who feel invisible or unheard. May I serve the single mother, exhausted and overwhelmed, with a listening ear. May I advocate for the marginalized in my community, ensuring their voices resonate with the clarity of Your truth.
In doing so, may my actions mirror Your character—transformative, loving, and relentlessly pursuing justice. Let me be an instrument of healing, not just for myself but for the world around me. In the name of the One who came to bring good news to the poor and freedom to the oppressed, I pray.
