Dear Heavenly Father,
I sat in a circle last Tuesday evening — seven of us crowded into Martha's living room for our small group, and I noticed something I'd never paid attention to before. Carlos, who grew up in Guatemala, was translating a verse into Spanish under his breath. Deb, who buried her husband last March, was underlining every word about comfort. And nineteen-year-old Jaylen was hearing the Sermon on the Mount for the first time, his eyes wide like he'd just discovered buried treasure.
The same scripture. Seven completely different ears receiving it.
Lord, You did not build Your church like a factory assembly line, stamping out identical believers. You built it like a garden — wild roses beside lavender beside stubborn dandelions that refuse to quit. And You told us in Ephesians 4:29 that our words should be fitted to the occasion, crafted to build up, designed to carry grace straight into the hands of whoever needs it most.
