Daily Hatred - Story
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I sit in quiet reflection, I find myself grappling with the insidious presence of hatred in my life. It’s a weighty burden, one that can creep in through bitter words whispered in anger or the silent, gnawing resentment that festers in my heart. Yet today, I am reminded of the profound truth in Romans 8:28, where we are assured that you work all things—yes, even our deepest struggles for love and understanding—together for good.
Imagine a world where, instead of retaliating with hatred, we respond with a fierce, unyielding love. Picture the face of a coworker who is difficult to love, perhaps someone whose scorn has darkened your days. Instead of letting hatred govern our reactions, we can choose to see them through your eyes, Lord. We can offer a word of kindness, a gesture of grace—a small light piercing the darkness.
Today, I invite you to consider how God might be calling you to engage with the hatred that surrounds us. Think of a situation where anger threatens to consume you. How can you respond in a way that reflects God’s hesed, that steadfast love? When we allow God to transform our hearts, we become vessels of hope and healing. My actions can draw others closer to you—not through judgment, but through the grace that has been so freely given to me.
