Daily Immigration and Welcome - Story
Dear God of Love and Justice,
As I sit with the weight of Amos 5:24—“But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream”—I find myself reflecting on the urgent call to embody Your love in the realm of immigration and welcome. I think of the families who stand in long lines at our borders, their faces etched with hope and fear, seeking a better life. These are not just statistics; they are mothers and fathers, children clutching teddy bears, hearts beating with the same desire for safety and belonging that we all share.
Help me to see them through Your compassionate eyes, to recognize in their struggles the image of Christ. There are moments, perhaps in our workplaces or neighborhoods, where we can extend a hand of welcome—a simple invitation for a meal, a listening ear, or a shared story that affirms their humanity.
Let my actions be a beacon of hope, illuminating the path toward justice and healing. May they inspire others to join in this divine work, transforming our communities into havens of shalom—wholeness and peace.
