Daily Reflection: Courage - Story

Imagine a young child standing at the edge of a vast, shadowy forest, clutching a well-worn teddy bear. The trees loom like giants, and the path ahead is shrouded in uncertainty. This child knows that just beyond the trees lies an enchanted meadow filled with sunshine, laughter, and adventure—but the forest stands as a barrier, whispering fears of the unknown.

In this moment, the child’s heart races, but the gentle voice of a parent calls from behind, “Be strong and courageous! I am with you.” These words spark a flicker of hope, igniting a flame of bravery within. With every step into the forest, the child’s faith in that promise grows. The shadows lose their power as the warmth of love surrounds them, illuminating the path forward.

Joshua 1:9 echoes this divine assurance: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

When we find ourselves standing on the edge of our own daunting forests—whether it’s the fear of a diagnosis, the uncertainty of a job loss, or the weight of broken relationships—we can draw strength from that same promise. Each step we take into the unknown is an act of faith, grounded in the knowledge that God walks beside us, guiding our journey.
