Declaring God's Ways Opens Heaven's Ears
The psalmist reveals a principle of spiritual reciprocity in three movements. First comes the duty—"I have declared my ways"—the believer's solemn responsibility to make known his experience of God's Word to others. This is not mere silence or private meditation, but active testimony. The man who has encountered Yahweh's truth must speak it forth, must become a herald of what he has learned through obedience and trial.
Second, observe the divine notice: "Thou heardest me." God does not remain indifferent to such declaration. When a believer openly confesses the ways God has led him, when he testifies publicly to Scripture's power and truth, the Almighty's ear is inclined toward him. Heaven takes notice. Adonai listens with deliberate attention to the one who honors His Word through testimony.
Third comes the magnificent reward—not punishment or silence, but enlargement: "Teach me thy statutes." The man who declares God's ways receives greater understanding. He who witnesses gains wisdom. Elohim does not withhold knowledge from the faithful witness; rather, He opens the treasures of His instruction more abundantly. This is the divine arithmetic: confession leads to hearing; hearing leads to teaching; teaching leads to deeper knowledge. The cycle spirals upward. Speak what you know of God, and He shall teach you what you do not yet know.
