Devotional: Holiness
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause to reflect on the profound nature of Holiness in my life today, I find myself drawn to the beautiful promise of Revelation 21:4, where You declare that there will be no more death, mourning, crying, or pain. What a glorious vision! In this broken world, it feels like we are often surrounded by shadows—shadows of despair, loss, and injustice. Yet, in the midst of this darkness, You invite us to become bearers of Your light.
Imagine a candle flickering in a dimly lit room. It doesn’t attempt to compete with the darkness; instead, it simply shines, illuminating its immediate surroundings. In the same way, God calls us to reflect His holiness in our everyday lives, even when we feel small against the vastness of the world’s troubles. When we interact with others, be it our families, friends, or strangers, we can choose to be that flickering light, offering love and grace, hope and healing.
Think of the single act of kindness—a warm meal offered to a neighbor in need, a listening ear to a friend overwhelmed by grief, or the simple yet profound gesture of forgiveness towards someone who has wronged us. These are moments where holiness breaks through the mundane, providing a glimpse of Your character to those around us.
