Devotional: Mercy
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause to reflect on the profound gift of Mercy in my life today, I turn to the comforting words of Philippians 4:6-7, where Paul reminds us to be anxious for nothing but to present our requests to You with thanksgiving. Lord, help me to glimpse the world through Your eyes, especially in moments that may feel heavy with judgment or despair.
Picture a weary traveler, burdened by life’s struggles, stumbling into a small coffee shop on a stormy afternoon. She orders her drink, but it is clear she carries the weight of unspoken fears. In that moment, may I be the barista who offers a warm smile, an encouraging word, or even a simple act of kindness that reflects Your love and grace. Help me to remember that even the smallest gesture can be a beacon of hope, illuminating the shadows where Mercy is desperately needed.
Fill me, Lord, with the courage to be a light in the darkness, to extend grace where it feels most difficult, and to bring healing where there is hurt. Let my actions echo Your character, guiding others to Your embrace.
