Divine Justice Recognizes Wrong Done to All Persons
He that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done. — Colossians 4:25
I. Punishment Threatened
To masters who wrong their servants: (1) By defrauding them of clothing, food, or wages; (2) By imposing labours beyond their strength; (3) By afflicting them with reproaches and unjust stripes. God will execute due punishment as He did to the Egyptian oppressors (Exodus 5). Servants must not rise in anger or abandon their tasks through idleness; vengeance belongs to Elohim.
To servants who wrong their masters: Contumacious servants who withhold due obedience and reverence; deceitful and slothful servants who refuse sincere submission—these shall be punished by God the Avenger and Judge (2 Kings 5).
