Evening Prayer: Climate Change & Stewardship
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I sit quietly in the evening light, I find myself drawn to the profound teachings of Matthew 25:31-46, where You remind us that our actions toward the least among us reflect our love for You. Lord, the earth cries out in pain—forests are fading, oceans are rising, and communities are struggling under the weight of a changing climate. In this moment, I ask for Your wisdom to see the world through Your eyes. Help me grasp the urgency of our responsibility as stewards of Your creation.
Guide me to be a beacon of hope in my community, shining Your light into the shadows where despair lurks. When I encounter a neighbor whose home has been impacted by flooding, let my heart respond with compassion, not indifference. When I see discarded plastic littering our parks, may I be spurred to action, picking up trash not just to beautify, but to honor the intricate web of life You have woven.
Let my small choices—like reducing waste or supporting sustainable practices—be a testament to Your grace. May my actions reflect Your character, drawing others closer to You, as we work together to care for this beautiful planet You have entrusted to us.
