Evening Prayer: Climate Change & Stewardship
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause in the stillness of this evening, I invite Your presence to fill my heart as I reflect on the pressing issue of Climate Change and the stewardship we are called to embrace. Your word in Colossians 3:23 reminds us that whatever we do, we should work heartily, as for You and not for men. This truth resonates deeply in a world that often feels heavy with despair. Help me to see through Your eyes—to recognize the fragile beauty of creation around me, from the vibrant hues of a sunset to the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze.
Every day, I encounter the stark realities of environmental degradation—the polar ice caps melting, the choking smoke of wildfires, and the rising tides that threaten our coastal communities. Yet, amidst this darkness, You call us to be bearers of hope and agents of change. Show me how to be a light in this tumultuous season, illuminating paths of healing for our planet. Perhaps it’s as simple as reducing my waste, choosing sustainable products, or advocating for policies that protect the earth You entrusted to us.
Help me to embody Your love and grace in these actions. May my choices serve not just my own comfort but also the communities around me—bringing together neighbors for clean-up efforts, sharing knowledge about sustainable practices, or even planting trees that will shelter future generations. In this way, may my life reflect Your character, drawing others closer to You.
