Evening Prayer: Courage - Story
As the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, I find myself reflecting on the promise found in Isaiah 40:31: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Picture an eagle, majestic and strong, effortlessly gliding through the currents of the sky. It knows when to catch the wind, to ride the thermals that lift it higher. Our lives, too, are filled with moments where we must summon courage to rise above our challenges. Each day may present its own storms—financial worries, health concerns, or the strain of relationships. Yet, like the eagle, when we root our trust in God, we are not tethered to the ground.
Consider the small act of stepping out of your comfort zone. Maybe it's reaching out to a friend who needs support, or speaking up for justice in your community. These moments of courage often feel daunting, yet they are infused with the promise of renewal. When we lean on our faith, trusting in God’s guidance, we discover strength we didn’t know we had.
Let this evening be a time of prayerful reflection. Ask the Lord to help you identify where you need courage in your journey. Remember, with every leap of faith, God is there to lift us, like eagles soaring high above, inviting us to embrace the vastness of His love and grace.
