Evening Prayer: Digital Addiction & Freedom
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause to reflect on the grip of Digital Addiction in my life, I’m reminded of the wisdom in Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” These words resonate deeply as I navigate the complexities of our digital age—where scrolling through endless feeds can often feel like wandering in a desert, desperately searching for water yet finding only sand.
Imagine for a moment a child lost in a vast, dark forest, crying out for their parents. In that stillness, a gentle voice calls back, guiding them to safety. Lord, I recognize that in the often-chaotic digital landscape, I can easily become that lost child, entranced by the bright lights of distraction, while neglecting the warmth of your presence. You offer me a path to freedom, a path illuminated by your love and grace.
Help me, Father, to become a beacon of hope in this often overwhelming darkness. May my engagement with technology reflect your hesed—your steadfast love—in every interaction. Instead of isolating myself behind screens, may I use my digital presence to create community, to uplift others, and to share the light of Christ.
