Evening Prayer: Patience - Prayer
As twilight settles gently around us, consider the image of a seed lying dormant in the cold earth. It holds within it the promise of life, yet it must wait for the right conditions to flourish. Patience can sometimes feel like a burden, but it is in that waiting that growth begins. The prophet Jeremiah reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11 that God has plans for our lives—plans to prosper us, to give us hope and a future. These words are not just declarations but invitations to trust in divine timing.
Imagine a gardener tending to a budding plant. Day after day, she waters it, protects it from pests, and nurtures its growth, yet it is often the unseen roots that develop first, anchoring the plant firmly for the days ahead. This is much like our spiritual journey. In our evening prayers, we can meditate on our growth, allowing ourselves to be loved by God and to extend that love to others.
When we cultivate patience in prayer, we embrace the rhythm of God’s loving guidance. Each moment spent in quiet communion is a step toward understanding our purpose. Let us lean into that space with joy, knowing that the seeds of faith we plant today will blossom into the fruits of love tomorrow. May our hearts be open to God’s timing, trusting that every season of waiting is rich with divine promise.
