Evening Prayer: Social Justice & Christianity
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause to reflect on the intersection of Social Justice and Christianity in my life today, I find myself drawn back to the powerful words of Jesus in Matthew 25:31-46. In this profound passage, He paints a vivid picture of the final judgment, where the King separates the sheep from the goats—those who fed the hungry, clothed the naked, visited the imprisoned. It challenges me to see the world through your compassionate eyes.
Lord, help me to recognize the faces of those in need—the single mother working two jobs who still struggles to put food on the table, the homeless man curled up against the cold in a doorway, the child whose laughter is drowned out by the sound of despair. May my heart break for what breaks Yours.
Guide me to be a beacon of Your love in these shadowy corners of our world. Let my actions—small or grand—be the hands and feet of Christ. When I help the marginalized, when I advocate for the oppressed, I am not just performing a duty; I am participating in Your divine work of restoration.
