Evening Prayer: Women and Church Leadership - Prayer
Dear God of Love and Justice,
As I reflect on the role of women in church leadership, I am drawn to the wisdom of Colossians 3:15, which calls us to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts. In a world where women often navigate the treacherous waters of inequality and dismissal, I pray for your eyes of love to flood my vision. Help me to see the divine spark in every woman’s heart, their gifts and voices, and to honor their calling with reverence and joy.
Lord, guide me to be a beacon of hope in the shadows, bringing healing wherever I encounter women striving to lead, serve, and nurture within your church. I think of the countless women who have had the courage to step into leadership roles, like the Rev. Dr. Amy Butler, who broke barriers in her community and reminded us that the heart of the gospel is found in justice and compassion. May my actions embody your character of agape—that selfless love which compels us to lift one another up.
In the name of the One who proclaimed good news to the poor and freedom to the oppressed, let my spirit be ignited with a passion for justice. May I not only seek my own transformation but join you in transforming our world into a realm of peace and equity.
