Evening Prayer: Work
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause to reflect on the fabric of my work life today, I am struck by the profound wisdom of Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." These words resonate not just as a reminder but as an invitation—a call to view my toil through Your divine lens.
Picture the daily grind of our work: the early mornings, the meetings that seem to stretch into eternity, the frustrations and fleeting victories. It’s easy to become a solitary ship navigating stormy seas, weighed down by the pressures of deadlines and expectations. But what if we approached our work as a canvas? A canvas where each brushstroke reflects Your love and grace. Can you see it? A project completed not just with skill but infused with agape, a selfless love that spills over into our interactions with colleagues, clients, and even competitors.
Guide me, Lord, to be that beacon of hope, illuminating the darkness of discontent and despair that can so easily creep into our workplaces. Let my actions mirror Your character, drawing others not just toward my work, but ultimately toward You.
