Evening Prayer: Work - Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause this evening, I find myself reflecting deeply on the nature of my work. In the midst of deadlines and to-do lists, I am reminded of the profound wisdom found in Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.”
Lord, grant me the vision to see my work not just as a job, but as a sacred calling. In those moments when I feel overwhelmed, help me to recognize that your grace can turn my burdens into opportunities for transformation. Just as salt enhances the flavor of food, may my actions at work bring a taste of your hesed—your steadfast love—to those around me.
Show me how to be a beacon of hope in the daily grind, illuminating the darkness that often creeps into our professional lives. When frustration arises, let me respond with patience; when competition tempts me to act selfishly, remind me to serve with humility. May my colleagues see in me a reflection of your character—compassionate, understanding, and unwavering.
