Glory on the Mountain: Matthew 17:1-13
After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.
The inner circle. These three would later be closest to Jesus in Gethsemane's agony. First they would see his glory.
A high mountain—traditionally identified as Mount Tabor or Mount Hermon. Jesus led them up, away from crowds, away from demands, into thin air and solitude.
There he was transfigured before them.
