God's Righteous Anger Against the Wicked Daily
Scripture divides humanity into two classes: the righteous and the wicked. The righteous possess true faith in Christ, consecrate their spirit to Elohim, live a heavenly life on earth, and have been renewed by the Holy Ghost. Their original selfishness has been subdued and slain through the ever-present grace of Christ Jesus. The wicked stand in direct opposition—unregenerate in heart, living under the dominion of appetite, with self as their ultimate end.
Yahweh's anger against the wicked is testified by God Himself and confirmed by reason. If Elohim were not opposed to wickedness, He would be wicked for tolerating it. Yet this anger bears no malice. It is not passion that displaces reason, nor is it selfish. Rather, God's anger implies four realities: (1) entire disapprobation of the wicked's conduct and character—He loathes them with infinite loathing; (2) the strongest opposition of will against their nature as opposed to His own; (3) strong opposition of feeling against sinners; and (4) opposition directed not merely against sin abstracted from the sinner, but against the sinner himself. The sin possesses no moral character apart from the sinner. That a rational moral agent under His government arrays himself against his own God and Father grieves and displeases Adonai. This divine anger operates perpetually—every day—toward all who refuse renewal through Christ.
