God's Word: The Student's Secret to Surpassing Wisdom
The truly wise person draws from a singular source: the commandments, testimonies, and precepts of the only wise God. This wisdom grows through three inseparable practices.
First, the word must dwell ever with me—constant communion with truth. The student who keeps God's word perpetually before him, like a scholar with an open manuscript, finds it becomes part of his mental fabric. Second comes meditation: turning the word over in the mind as a jeweler examines a gem from every angle, extracting its brilliance. Third is obedience—the word must move from head to heart to hands.
When these three elements work together, the result surpasses ordinary learning. Consider the measure of such wisdom: it exceeds that of enemies whose understanding is earthly, sensual, and devilish. It transcends teachers whose knowledge belongs merely to this world's systems. It surpasses the ancients, whose accumulated years of unsanctified experience remain hollow without God's truth.
A student may memorize a thousand facts and still lack true wisdom. But one who maintains unbroken communion with Yahweh's word, meditates upon it faithfully, and bends his will to obey it—this person becomes wiser than all his adversaries and instructors combined. The secret is not genius or years, but the perpetual presence of eternal truth.
