Good News from Heaven: Messages of the Far Country
As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country (Proverbs 25:25). We inhabit a world of separations and farewells, where distance divides families and loved ones across continents. Yet Elohim has appointed channels through which tidings from the far country—heaven itself—reach the thirsting soul.
Every righteous thought, every pure and generous purpose, every warning of conscience condemning wrong, every conception wooing toward holiness and sincerity—these are messages from that distant realm. The starry heavens proclaim His record; the new-born spring bears witness; the heart of a child reveals His character. These are not lesser revelations than Scripture, but records of the same truth.
What is the sum of all revelations? Christ Himself—the dear Saviour, the living Message-bearer from the far country. His compassions, His infinite redemption, the great message—all other good news gathers about Him. We cannot separate redeeming love from any gift of our Father's care.
In this world of change, common news from distant lands often cheers us temporarily. But the news that sustains eternally tells how Adonai leads all by different paths—the right way for each—toward the one city of habitation. Though countries far apart may separate the members of God's family, nowhere exists where He is absent. Members of the one family shall cheer each other's hearts with tidings from the far country.
