I Believe—Help My Unbelief: Mark 9:14-29

They descended from glory into chaos. At the mountain's base, a crowd surrounded the other disciples, and teachers of the law were arguing with them. When the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him.

"What are you arguing about?"

A man pushed through the crowd, desperation carved into his face. "Teacher, I brought you my son. He is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive it out, but they could not."

The disciples had tried. They had cast out demons before. This one would not budge.
