Jesus in Gethsemane - Christocentric (Isaiah 40:31)
In Gethsemane, Jesus waited on the Father. "Not my will but yours." He could have called angels; He waited. He could have escaped; He stayed. He could have forced a different outcome; He surrendered. This is what waiting on the LORD looks like incarnate. And the Father's answer? The cross—then resurrection. "Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength." Jesus waited through death to resurrection. He shows us how to wait and what waiting produces. Our waiting follows His pattern.
