John Calvin — Prayer for the Church

Almighty God, since it hath pleased Thee to number us among Thy people, grant us grace to live in accordance with this dignity; that we may not pollute by our vices the sacred name of Christianity which we bear. Do Thou also gather together the scattered members of Thy Church, and grant that all who profess Thy name may be united in the bond of Thy truth and love. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
