Left Behind: End-Times Courage - Dispensational (Joshua 1:9)
Imagine a young father named David, standing on the edge of a crumbling cliff, his heart racing as he watches the storm clouds gather on the horizon. The winds howl like an unrelenting beast, and he knows that the path ahead is fraught with danger. Just days before, he had received the news that his small town had fallen victim to a ruthless regime, forcing families to flee for their lives. David’s own wife and children are hidden away in a secret location, waiting for him to find the courage to return and lead them to safety.
As the first raindrops begin to fall, he remembers the words of Joshua: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Those words echo in his mind, cutting through the chaos surrounding him. He recalls the tales of Joshua leading the Israelites into enemy territory, armed not with swords, but with the assurance of God’s presence. It is a promise that resonates deeply within him.
In that moment, David clings to hope like a lifeline. He knows that the journey ahead will be filled with uncertainty and fear—much like the Tribulation believers who faced the Antichrist in Left Behind. Yet, he understands that courage is not the absence of fear, but the resolve to move forward despite it, bolstered by the knowledge that God walks beside him, illuminating the darkness with His light.
With renewed strength, David takes a deep breath and steps away from the edge. He embraces the storm ahead, ready to face whatever may come, knowing that he is not alone. Just as we prepare for the challenges of our own lives, we can find courage in the promise that the LORD our God goes with us to the very end.
