Left Behind: Prophetic Times and Seasons - Dispensational (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
Imagine a bustling marketplace in Jerusalem, where every stall is alive with vibrant colors and the sounds of merchants calling out to passersby. The air is redolent with the rich scents of spices and fresh bread, a place where life unfolds in its many seasons. Among the crowd, there stands a wise old man, his eyes glistening with the knowledge of years gone by. He watches as people rush from one stall to another, each seeking something different: a longed-for heirloom, the latest fashions, or a rare fruit.
As he observes, he feels a deep connection to the words of Ecclesiastes: "For everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." He knows there’s a time to gather and a time to let go, a time for laughter and a time for mourning. These truths resonate deeply in the hearts of the people, whether they realize it or not.
In the midst of this vibrant scene, a young woman approaches him, eyes filled with questions. “What do you see in our times?” she asks. The old man smiles gently, drawing her close. “Ah, my dear, just as you see the changing of the seasons in nature, so too does God orchestrate the seasons of our lives and history. In the prophetic unfolding of time, there is a season for the Church, a season for rapture, a season for judgment, and ultimately, a season for restoration.”
He gestures toward a distant horizon, where storm clouds gather yet rays of sunlight pierce through, illuminating the path ahead. “Do not fear the unknown,” he says, “for each season holds a purpose, each transition a divine appointment. We are in the Church age now, a time of grace and growth. But remember—just as the seasons change in this marketplace, so too will the times of the world. Prepare your heart, for the next season is coming, and it carries the promise of hope and renewal.”
