Lessons from Grace - Story
There was a small town known for its beautiful garden, tended by an elderly man named Mr. Thompson. For years, he nurtured every flower, every shrub, and every tree. People came from far and wide to see the vibrant blooms and lush greenery. But one winter, a fierce storm rolled in, uprooting many of his beloved plants and leaving the garden a mess of broken branches and muddy soil.
The townspeople feared the worst. “It will take forever to restore,” they murmured, shaking their heads. But Mr. Thompson, with his gentle spirit, surveyed the destruction and saw potential. Instead of giving in to despair, he knelt in the dirt, hands in the soil, and began to remove the debris. With every uprooted plant he tended to, he whispered words of encouragement. “You will rise again; you were made for this.”
Months later, the garden emerged, not just restored but transformed. New flowers had taken root, colors more vibrant than before. Mr. Thompson smiled, sharing with visitors, “It was grace that carried us through. You see, it’s not about what we can do; it’s about what He has done for us.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us that it is by grace we have been saved, through faith—not by our own efforts. Sometimes, we may feel like that broken garden, but God’s grace always brings healing. When we respond in faith, we open ourselves to the beauty of restoration, not just for ourselves, but for those around us. Let us lean into that grace today, trusting that healing is possible, even amidst our challenges.
