Lessons from Humility - Story

In a quiet town nestled between rolling hills, there lived an elderly man named Mr. Thompson. He was well-known for his wisdom, often sought after by those facing life's challenges. One day, a young man named Jake, filled with ambition and dreams of success, approached Mr. Thompson with a heavy heart. “I’m ready to take on the world,” Jake declared, “but I’ve hit a wall. I just don’t know how to move forward.”

With a gentle smile, Mr. Thompson invited Jake to hike up a nearby hill, where they often found solace. As they reached the summit, Mr. Thompson pointed to the vast sky, “Do you see those eagles soaring above us?” Jake nodded, captivated. “They rise on the thermals, not by flapping their wings endlessly, but by embracing the winds beneath them.”

Jake thought for a moment, realizing the depth of the lesson. “So, you’re saying I need to rely on something greater than my own strength?”

Mr. Thompson nodded, “Faith is like that wind. It lifts us when we’re humbled. Remember Isaiah 40:31: ‘But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.’”
