Lessons from Love - Story
Samantha sat on the edge of her bed, the smell of lavender filling the air as she cradled a worn-out journal. Each page was a testament to her journey through grief after losing her mother. With every entry, she poured out her heart—her pain, her longing, and her desperate quest for understanding. She had wrestled with questions of faith, feeling as though the ground beneath her was shifting.
One evening, as she flipped through the pages, she stumbled upon a verse she had written down during a particularly painful moment: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). It struck her like a lightning bolt. In her quest for answers, she had been leaning on her own limited perspective, searching for perfection in a world that felt shattered.
Samantha closed her eyes and began to pray, asking God for the grace to forgive herself for moments of doubt and anger. It was in that stillness that she felt a gentle whisper, urging her to extend that same grace to others, to heal broken relationships that had formed in her grief.
The next day, she reached out to an old friend with whom she had fallen out. They met for coffee, and as they talked, tears flowed freely—tears of regret, but also of hope. They found a new understanding, a new purpose in their friendship, rooted in the love that God had shown them.
