Lessons from Peace - Biblical Analogy
There’s a beautiful story about a gardener named Samuel, whose life was filled with the fragrance of blooming flowers and the vibrant colors of fresh vegetables. Each season, he poured his heart into his garden, cultivating it with love and patience. And yet, there were times when it felt like nothing was growing. The seed was planted, but day after day, it seemed as if the earth held back its blessings.
One afternoon, as he knelt in the soil, frustrated by the slow progress, his young daughter, Lily, joined him. “Daddy, why do we have to wait?” she asked, her eyes wide with innocence. He thought for a moment, then pointed to a patch of soil that had recently been tilled. “Sweetheart, do you see that patch? Just like our faith, it needs time to rest before it can bear fruit. The waiting teaches us patience, and in the waiting, God is guiding us to trust Him.”
Samuel glanced at his daughter, and in that moment, he felt a wave of peace wash over him. The days of uncertainty were not wasted; they were part of the divine growth process. Just as Ephesians 2:8-9 reminds us, we are saved by grace through faith—not by our efforts but by His guidance and timing.
So, like a garden, our spiritual lives require patience. Trust that God is at work even when we can’t see it. He’s nurturing us, preparing us for a harvest that will bring His peace and purpose into our lives. Be encouraged, for the growth is coming, just as surely as the flowers bloom in spring.
