Lessons from Peace - Quote
A few years ago, I had the privilege of walking alongside a young couple, Ben and Sarah, as they navigated the stormy waters of life. Just as they were preparing for their wedding, Ben lost his job. The future that once shimmered with promise suddenly dimmed, and anxiety began to cloud their hearts.
One evening, I visited them, and we sat in their modest living room, adorned with wedding plans that felt increasingly out of reach. I could sense the heaviness in the air, the weight of uncertainty pressing down on them. As I listened, Ben voiced the fears that haunted him. “How can we build a life together if I can’t even provide for us now?” Sarah, holding back tears, whispered, “I just want peace in our hearts.”
In that moment, I turned to Galatians 5:22-23, reminding them that the fruit of the Spirit includes peace and patience, gifts given freely by God to help us grow. I shared a simple truth: peace is not the absence of chaos, but the presence of Christ in the chaos.
We prayed together, asking for divine patience and trusting God to bless their journey. In the weeks that followed, Ben found new opportunities he never anticipated, while Sarah’s heart settled in the assurance that they were not alone.
