Lessons from Peace - Quote
There’s a small garden at the end of my street that belongs to an elderly woman named Mrs. Thompson. Each spring, she carefully tends to her flowers, but it wasn’t always this way. A few years ago, a harsh winter destroyed most of her plants. Many would have given up, but Mrs. Thompson, with a gentle spirit, dug deep into the frozen earth, clearing away the remnants of what used to bloom. I remember watching her, kneeling in the dirt, her hands calloused but steady.
One day, I asked her why she didn’t just leave the garden alone. She smiled and said, “Every plant has a season. It may look empty now, but beneath the surface, there’s growth happening that you can’t see. I have to be patient and trust that God is preparing something beautiful.”
Her words reminded me of Ephesians 2:8-9, where we’re reminded that it is through grace we are saved, not by our own works. Just as Mrs. Thompson tended to her garden with hope, we too must nurture our spiritual lives with patience and faith, knowing that growth often occurs in unseen moments.
When we feel lost or overwhelmed, let us lean into that divine grace, which guides us gently, cultivating our souls toward purpose and peace. Like Mrs. Thompson’s garden, our lives can become a canvas for God’s beauty, if we allow Him to work beneath the surface. Take heart, dear friends; growth is coming, and peace is just a season away.
