Lessons from Righteousness - Story

A few years ago, I met a man named Tom, who had spent much of his life battling addiction. His journey was anything but easy, and he often described himself as a lost sheep, wandering far from the green pastures and still waters that the Psalmist speaks of in Psalm 23. But one day, amidst his struggles, Tom felt a deep call to change. He found courage in the words of that Psalm, especially the line, "He restores my soul."

Tom began attending a local church where he was welcomed with open arms. Under the guidance of a wise pastor, he learned about the righteousness that comes not from his own efforts but from faith in Jesus Christ. At first, it was a slow transformation, much like a tree slowly growing in the winter, waiting for the warmth of spring to blossom. He faced setbacks—days of doubt and temptation—but he clung to the promise of restoration.

As he shared his journey with others, Tom discovered a new purpose. He became a mentor for those still trapped in darkness, exemplifying patience and grace. Witnessing his progress was awe-inspiring; it was as if the shepherd himself had come to guide him back home. Tom's life became a testament to the truth of God's righteousness—how it patiently works to transform us, leading us toward spiritual growth and the abundant life promised in Christ.

And so, dear friends, let us remember that in our own lives, the Shepherd is guiding us, always ready to restore and lead us toward our highest purpose.
