Lessons from Salvation - Contemporary Example
There’s a young woman in our community named Esther, who, like the biblical figure, found herself in a place of uncertainty and fear. She had recently experienced a series of setbacks—job losses, broken relationships, and a deep sense of purposelessness. One evening, as she sat on her porch watching the sun dip below the horizon, she opened her Bible to Joshua 1:9, where God commands, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Those words struck her heart with a force she hadn’t anticipated. It was as if God was reaching down to say, “Esther, I am with you.” In that moment, she decided to take a leap of faith. She began volunteering at a local homeless shelter, pouring her heart into helping those who seemed to have even less purpose than she felt. Through those small acts of kindness, she began to notice something changing within her.
The joy of serving others replaced her despair, and her life began to transform. She became a beacon of hope for those around her, just like the Esther of old who stood up for her people. Her faith in God’s presence—His promise never to abandon her—became the foundation upon which she rebuilt her purpose.
Esther learned that salvation isn’t just about being saved; it’s about being sent. Every act of kindness became a step in her faith journey, reminding her and all of us that with God, we can face the unknown with courage and joy, transforming our lives into narratives of hope.
