Lessons from Wisdom - Story
There’s a story about an elderly man named Mr. Johnson who lived in a small town, known for his wisdom and unwavering faith. Every Sunday, he would sit on the church steps, greeting folks as they came and went, sharing snippets of life’s truths with anyone who would listen. He often spoke of the strength found in Isaiah 40:31, which tells us that “those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles.”
One day, a young woman named Lisa approached him, her spirit heavy with doubt and anxiety. She was searching for direction, feeling as if she were stuck in a storm, tossed about by life’s challenges. Mr. Johnson looked at her with genuine compassion and shared a memory from his own youth. He recounted a time when he, too, felt lost, wandering through a forest during a torrential rain. Just when he thought he’d lose his way, he spotted a magnificent eagle soaring above the tree line, gliding gracefully even in the storm.
“Lisa,” he said gently, “the eagle doesn’t fight the wind; it rides on it. Our faith gives us wings to rise above our troubles. When you trust in God and lean into His wisdom, you will find purpose and stability, even in the turbulent times.”
With newfound hope ignited in her heart, Lisa realized that just like that eagle, she could soar, lifted by her faith in the One who guides her through every storm.
