Light That Was Already On Its Way
In July 2022, NASA released the first images from the James Webb Space Telescope, and the world held its breath. The telescope captured light from galaxies that had been traveling for over thirteen billion years — light that began its journey long before Earth existed, long before anyone was alive to look up and wonder.
Think about that. The light was already on its way.
Before any human eye could see it, before any instrument could detect it, before anyone even knew to hope for it — that ancient light was steadily crossing the darkness, moving toward a moment of revelation that wouldn't come for billions of years.
This is how God's promises work. Long before we cry out in our desperation, before we even know what we need, the Almighty has already set deliverance in motion. Isaiah 65:24 tells us, "Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear." The answer is already traveling toward us through what feels like endless dark.
When you sit in a hospital waiting room at two in the morning, when the diagnosis hasn't come yet, when the phone hasn't rung — God's faithfulness is not delayed. It is in transit. It has been in transit since before you drew your first breath.
Hope is not wishful thinking. Hope is the confidence that the light is already on its way — and the darkness has never once stopped it.
