Imagine a small community nestled in the hills, where every year, the townspeople gather to celebrate the harvest. This is not just a time of feasting and joy, but also a sacred moment where they come together to share their blessings—fruit from their orchards, grains from their fields, and stories of how they’ve seen God’s provision in their lives.

In the midst of this celebration, there’s an elderly woman named Ruth. Though her days of farming are behind her, she holds a special role. Ruth makes a point to sit at the entrance of the town square, inviting each person to share not only their bounty but also their burdens. “What is heavy on your heart?” she asks. “What are you thankful for?”

Through her simple act of gathering, Ruth embodies the peace that God commands us to live out in Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

This is how we are called to live in community—sharing our resources, our fears, and our hopes. Just as Ruth fosters an environment of grace and support, we too can create spaces within our ministries where peace reigns, where burdens are lifted, and where the grace of God flows freely among us.
