Morning Meditation: Anger
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause to reflect on the powerful emotion of anger today, I am drawn to the profound wisdom of Colossians 3:23, which reminds us to work heartily, as if for You and not for men. In moments of anger—those flashes that rise like a storm cloud—I seek Your perspective, Lord. Help me to see beyond the immediate irritation to the deeper truth that lies beneath.
Imagine standing on a busy street corner, where tempers flare over a missed signal or a careless word. In those heated moments, I want to be the one who breathes calm. Just as Jesus spoke to the raging waves, saying, “Peace! Be still!” I long to carry that same Spirit within me, to bring hope and healing amid chaos. When I feel anger bubbling up—whether it’s a sharp word thrown in frustration or a sense of injustice that grips my heart—help me to respond not with bitterness, but with love, just as You have shown me.
May my actions reflect Your character, illuminating the path for others toward grace and understanding. Each encounter with anger is an opportunity—a moment to choose compassion over conflict, forgiveness over fury. Today, let's consider how we might transform our responses to anger into instruments of Your peace.
