Morning Meditation: Climate Change & Stewardship
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I pause to reflect on the profound themes of Climate Change and Stewardship, I am drawn to the powerful words of Isaiah 58:6-7. You remind us that true fasting—the heart of our spiritual practice—is not merely about abstention, but about action: “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?”
Lord, open my eyes to see the ways I can respond to the urgent cries of our Earth, our shared home. In a world where temperatures rise and storms intensify, help me to be a beacon of hope and healing. Let my heart break for the struggling communities impacted by climate change—those who live on the front lines and feel its repercussions most acutely.
Each time I recycle a bottle or choose to walk instead of drive, let those small acts echo your agape love for creation. May I find joy in planting trees, knowing that each sapling nurtured is a promise of life for future generations.
