Morning Meditation: Climate Change & Stewardship
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I look out at the world around me, I see the beauty of your creation—the vibrant colors of the sunrise, the rustling leaves in the gentle breeze, the laughter of children playing in the park. Yet, I also bear witness to the shadows cast by climate change—drought-stricken fields, rising waters, and the restless anxiety of communities facing uncertainty. Today, I seek your wisdom, as found in Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Help me, Lord, to see this pressing issue through your eyes. Engage my heart and mind, that I may grasp the weight of my responsibility as a steward of your creation. Remind me of the shalom (peace) that comes when we care for one another and for the fragile earth you entrusted to us. May I embrace the call to action with the same fervor that ignited your ministry on this earth—a ministry defined by love, compassion, and relentless hope.
Let my actions be a beacon of light in the darkness. When I recycle, when I choose to support sustainable practices, or when I gather my community to plant trees, let it be a reflection of your character, drawing others closer to you. May our collective efforts not only heal our planet but also foster a deeper sense of community and purpose.
