Dear God of Love and Justice,

As I meditate on your timeless wisdom in Psalm 24:1, which proclaims that "The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it," I invite you to open my eyes to the places in my life where I wrestle with clobbering texts—those painful and often divisive scriptures that seem to shout condemnation rather than grace. Let me view these struggles through your lens of love, where every person bears your divine image and every situation is steeped in potential for transformation.

Guide me, Lord, to become a beacon of hope in the darkest corners of my community, where judgment often looms larger than compassion. In my encounters with those who feel marginalized or oppressed, may I respond not with defensiveness but with an open heart, extending your hesed—your steadfast love—and seeking justice that lifts up the downtrodden.

Help me to embody the spirit of Christ, who came to proclaim good news to the poor and to free the captives. Empower my actions to reflect your character, inspiring those around me to see the beauty of your kingdom, a kingdom rich in justice and peace.
