Morning Meditation: Devotion - Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I gather my thoughts this morning, I am drawn to the beautiful community described in Acts 2:42-47. The early church, vibrant and alive, devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to breaking bread, and to prayer. What a tapestry of devotion that must have been! They shared everything they had, rejoicing together with joyful hearts, and their love for one another shone like a beacon in a world often shrouded in darkness.
Lord, help me to reflect on my own devotion. Am I merely attending services, or am I truly engaging with the life of my community? Am I bringing hope to the weary, as those early believers did? I ask for your wisdom to see where I can be that light, illuminating the corners of despair with your grace. May my actions—small as they may be—be a reflection of your loving character.
As I go through my day, may I remember that devotion is not a solitary road but a communal journey. Let me serve others with the same fervor that you serve me. Perhaps it’s reaching out to a neighbor in need, volunteering at a local shelter, or simply sharing a meal with someone who feels alone. In these acts of love, I am not just nurturing my own spirit; I am participating in your mission to transform the world.
