Morning Meditation: Digital Addiction & Freedom - Story
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I sit with you today, my heart grows heavy with the weight of our digital world. I think of Galatians 3:28, where we are reminded that in you, there is no division—no barriers of race, status, or, yes, even our devices. The screens that connect us can also isolate us, pulling us into a vortex of distraction that dims our light rather than amplifying it.
Imagine a young mother, her eyes flickering with the glow of her phone while her children play just inches away. She scrolls past images and headlines, absorbing a barrage of noise that drowns out their laughter and their calls for her attention. She longs for connection, yet finds herself more distant than ever, caught in the web of virtual engagement. This is the essence of digital addiction—a yearning for connection that often leaves us feeling more alone.
But God, you call us to a different way. You invite us to step into the freedom that comes from putting down our devices and embracing the tangible, messy beauty of life all around us. Help us to see this reality through your eyes. May our hearts be ignited with the love and grace you have shown us, guiding us to be beacons of hope in a world desperate for healing.
