Morning Meditation: Environmental Justice
Dear Heavenly Father,
As I wake to a new day, I find myself standing at the crossroads of creation and responsibility, reflecting on the profound wisdom of Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” This morning, I sense the gentle breeze whispering through the trees, reminding me of the intricate web of life that you have woven around us. Each leaf, each droplet of water, each creature bears your fingerprints, calling us to be stewards of this delicate balance.
Help me to see the urgent call for Environmental Justice as more than a cause, but as a sacred trust entrusted to us. Would you open my eyes to the neglected spaces where the earth cries out for healing—the polluted waters where children play, the barren plots where communities once thrived, the air thick with despair? May my heart break for what breaks yours, igniting a passion within me to advocate for the voiceless and protect your creation.
Guide me, Lord, to be a beacon of hope in the darkness, illuminating the path for others to follow. May my actions—whether planting trees in a local park, supporting sustainable businesses, or engaging in community clean-ups—reflect your hesed (steadfast love) and shalom (peace), drawing those around me closer to your heart.
